What is Iron Status Blood Test?
You can have a normal full blood count and still have low iron stores. Ferritin often falls before anaemia appears, which is why it is worth measuring in its own right.
Useful if you are frequently tired, have heavy periods, train hard, follow a vegetarian or vegan diet, or have been told to keep an eye on your iron.
